Types of Assembly Jobs in Manufacturing

Assemblers are needed to work alone, or on a production line, to assemble products or components. Assembly jobs can be in a light industrial or heavy manufacturing environment, depending on the product. Job duties will vary from employer to employer, but typically jobs for assemblers will require that you:

  • Can keep up with a fast pace of work
  • Can meet quality control standards
  • Have basic reading and math skills
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Be able to complete required documentation
  • Be able to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing and lifting
